Physical Server to Virtual Server Conversion Service

Bullet Point

We guarantee to be able to a convert your physical server into a virtual one - if we fail we won't charge you anything.

Bullet Point

Although it's called "conversion", in every case, after conversion is complete, the original physical server is left in tact and operational.
(Remember though, the virtual server will now be using the physical server's operating system licence and probably it's IP address and Netbios name.)

Bullet Point

We include 30 days of support, after the conversion, to deal with any problems, complications or side-effects of the conversion process.

Things to do before starting the conversion
The time required for the conversion depends on the size of your server's system partition.
The more gigabytes it is, the longer it will take to image, restore, convert and copy.
A tidy up of the server's hard drives before performing the conversion is therefore recommended to delete unneeded files and move any data files to a separate Data partition.

These are the 2 Ways that we can Perform the Conversion

Using Remote Access over the Internet

If you are able to give us remote access to your network, we can connect to your server and take a disk image of its system drive.
We'll then connect to your host server, perform the conversion and finally boot the new virtual server in the virtualisation program running on the host.
If you prefer, you can take the disk image yourself and copy it to the host computer so that you only have to give us access to that computer and not let us near your live server.
To avoid disruption to your business operation, we can perform the conversion after hours or over a weekend.
The typical price for this method of conversion is £525.

Site Visit

If you want the process to take the least amount of time and require the least amount of involvement by you or your staff, we can come to your premises and perform the whole physical-to-virtual conversion process ourselves.
Allow a full day for he conversion process to allow for the unexpected problems that always seem to turn up.
To minimise the impact of server downtime, we can come and do the job at a weekend.
The typical price for this method of conversion is £725, if performed during normal hours and you are located close to our base in South-Central England.
See the Prices page for a map of where we're located and if there'll be any extra charge for travelling time to your site
